You could probably get away with the 1″ but you’d have to brace the out of it. For an aquarium that big, I’d probably use 2″ or 1.5″ which is the 15 series. I know Parco sells some black t-slot that would look cool for that.

July 8, 2021 at 6:09 pm #4532Callum_HeathKeymasterYou don’t really want to use grainger unless you have a company discount. They are pretty steep.
July 9, 2021 at 5:38 pm #4549MilesCantonParticipantI’d be a bit weary of using a 1″ on a 15gal tank to be honest, much better if you can go 2″
July 10, 2021 at 8:49 am #4553JohnMarkusParticipantYou can, and I have. But seems the overall consensus is that it is not recommended.
July 10, 2021 at 9:28 am #4567AlfonsMachineParticipantIt is better to go for the 15 series as the stand not only has to be strong enough to hold the weight of water but also the vibrations of the air pump.
July 11, 2021 at 1:39 pm #4600KDalton-mechParticipantThe 2″ T Slot frames would be a better option. The stand would definitely be heavy but we won’t be needing to move it up and about all the time.
July 12, 2021 at 1:46 pm #4613Jase_XzavierParticipant1′ inch T-slot would be heavily stressed, would suggest ,2′ T-Slot and having good support at the joints will improve the overall stability of the aquarium.
July 15, 2021 at 10:52 am #4691foster-aluminumParticipant150 gal tank would be very heavy for a 1-inch frame, I would suggest 2-inch profiles with good support to improve the structural strength.
July 16, 2021 at 4:35 pm #4755Gianni-MachineParticipantIt’s a good idea, but additional support by way of corner brackets would increase the frame’s strength.
