Solar Panels are usually installed in open ground or in roof tops. Solar Panels are already heavy and when using iron or steel mounts for the panels increases load on the roof tops. This load can be reduced by using T-Slot aluminum mounts which is light and is very durable compared to iron or steel mounts.
Solar Panels are highly durable and are constantly cleaned with water for efficiency. Iron and Steel mounts tend to rust and it needs to be replaced. This causes disruption in electricity production and reduces the systems functionality.
Should be very careful while placing additional load on the roof. Solar panels are already heavy and adding iron structures along it will be detrimental to the building structure. Would go for aluminum mounts to support the Solar Panels.
When Solar panels are placed in the ground with Steel or iron mounts , their support tends to detiorate due to moisture and water. As the support rusts they would need periodic replacements. Which won’t be needed incase of Aluminium Mounts.
Solar Farms are usually installed in isolated places, with extreme heat and temperatures. T-slot aluminum extrusion would provide durability to the structure. Aluminum has a higher temperature resistance compared to iron and steel. This makes aluminum t-slot a better option I think for solar farms.
With t-slot mounts you save lot of space compared to traditional mounts. This makes it possible to use more solar panels in the same area. Thereby, increasing the overall surface area.
As we all know, solar panels are useful in tropical places where the sun shines all around the year. Frames for solar panels out of t-slot would be lightweight and durable even when exposed to UV rays and the weather.
Aluminum are durable and using aluminium mounts for solar panels is a great idea. Since, the structure doesn’t need any regular maintenance like painting, to protect it from rusting. It would be a good choice.
