I would Suggest a basic table assembly. So that they can realise the possibilities with T-<Slot
Order a sample kit from the manufacturer and try it out before starting a project of your own.
A simple t-slot stand for your speakers should be good enough to start with.
Could order basic DIY module from the manufactures website, they would even give step-by-step instructions about assembly. It would give a good start.
Would suggest to build a custom mobile phone stand. Easy and useful build.

A table lamp stand using -slot would be cool to build. Modern, sleek, and would definitely showcase your DIY abilities to others.
