I thought I would provide some info on installing end fasteners. These need an end fastener assembly kit (screw and clip)–these usually cost $1.50 to $2.

End fasteners are generally a cheaper option but require some work. These fasteners are used to connect the end of one profile to the face of another.

A kit will include a screw and an end clip. The key is to increase the surface area for a rigid connection.

For installation, you will need a hole tapping jig, 9/32″ drill bit, 3/16″ hex end T-handle driver, 5/16″-18 tap, and some cutting fluid.

      1. Tap the hole –hole should be the right size through the entirety of the length of the profile.
      2. Drill access hole using jig in the piece it will connect to.
      3. Start screw in the threaded hole then slide the screw into the t-slot of the other extrusion and use a hex driver to tighten the screw.

If you don’t want to do it yourself, you can have the companies do the machining for you when you order.

Here’s a short video for more clarification. Go full screen though to see it better! That’s a single-end clip fastener in the video.
