What is the advantage of T-Slot Aluminum over welded steel?

T-Slot Aluminum is lighter that welded steel. So it is easier to handle. It is resistant to corrosion. There is no need for a welder and the assembling can be done without any hassles. The Aluminum T-Slot extrusion frame can be disassembled and reconfigured into a new one. This is a big advantage for businesses because it saves time and money in making a new frame.

We can design and make our own projects using T-slot extrusions and that is one big advantage.

Aluminum in itself is advantageous over other metal for its use in structural designs because it is available in large quantities, has great strength and it is light, highly ductile and resistant to corrosion. All these properties increases exponentially when it is transformed to T-slots.

It is safer to work with T-slot aluminum because it does not produce large flakes due to corrosion as in steel that poses a hazard of causing cut injuries to workmen.

It’s more flexible, lower maintenance fees and cheaper in the long run.

I think the cost and I prefer aluminium overall for framing.

Welded Steel can’t be repurposed , the welds have to be broken which reduces the structural strength. T-slot being modular can be reassembled to other projects when needed.

T Slot Aluminum does not rust and flake like Steel and hence keeps the work environment clean and safe as it does not cause hurt like the flaked edges of steel.

Welded steel can lose its strength at the joint. Plus it is more prone to oxidation and rusting, which reduces its structural integrity. With t-slot, it is joined by fasteners and connectors and requires no welding.

The Welded Structures strength depends mainly on the skill of the welder. If the welder is unskilled, it would result in weak structure. It would be hard to maintain even structure strength by using welded steel.
